Who virtual IOP is for

Some of the biggest barriers to treatment have nothing to do with willingness: distance, work hours, childcare, privacy. Virtual IOP removes them. It brings the same structured program to your screen, wherever in California you are. It may be the right fit if any of these sound like you:

  • You live too far from Glendora to drive in several days a week
  • Work, school, or caregiving makes in-person scheduling impossible
  • You value privacy and would rather heal from home
  • You are stepping down from residential care or PHP and want structure that travels with you
  • You have a quiet, private space and a reliable internet connection
  • Your needs are a clinical fit for outpatient care, with stable housing and support around you

What virtual IOP includes

The same program as our in-person IOP, delivered through your screen.

  • Live group therapy sessions with a small online community
  • Weekly individual therapy with your own therapist
  • Family therapy and family education, joined from anywhere
  • Dual diagnosis care for depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, OCD, and more
  • CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing
  • Art therapy and mindfulness, adapted for online sessions
  • Psychoeducation: the science of addiction, triggers, and relapse prevention
  • Case management and aftercare planning
  • Help setting up and testing your technology before day one
  • The option to mix in-person visits, like drug testing or court check-ins, when needed

How virtual IOP works

From your first call to your first session, usually within days.

1

A confidential call and free insurance check

It starts like every program here: a private conversation about what you need, plus a free insurance verification, usually within minutes. Most major PPO and HMO plans cover virtual IOP.

2

Assessment and a plan that fits your screen and your life

A clinician assesses your substance use, mental health, and home situation to confirm virtual care is a safe, clinical fit. Then you pick your session blocks: morning, afternoon, evening, or weekend.

3

Tech setup, then treatment

We help you set up and test the secure video platform before your first session. All you need is a device with a camera, an internet connection, and a private spot. Then the real work begins: groups, individual sessions, and family work, 9 to 12 hours a week.

4

Flex between virtual and in-person

Virtual and in-person are one continuum here, not two separate worlds. You can blend online groups with in-person visits, or transition fully to our Glendora center if your needs change. Same team either way.

In-network with most major PPO plans

We work with most PPO and HMO insurance. Not sure about yours? We will check for free.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to the questions we hear most. Anything else? Call us, day or night.

What is a virtual IOP?

It is our Intensive Outpatient Program delivered over secure, HIPAA-compliant video instead of in a room. Same structure, same licensed clinicians, same mix of group, individual, and family therapy, typically 9 to 12 hours a week across 3 to 4 days.

Do you treat mental health virtually, or just addiction?

Both, and both together. Our virtual IOP serves people working on substance use, people working on conditions like depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, or OCD, and people working on both at once through dual diagnosis care.

What technology do I need?

A phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone, a reliable internet connection, and a private space where you can speak freely. We help you set everything up and test it before your first session.

Is online treatment private?

Yes. Sessions run on an encrypted, HIPAA-compliant platform with secure logins, and they are not recorded. Your treatment is also protected by federal confidentiality law, 42 CFR Part 2 and HIPAA, just like in-person care.

Can I switch between virtual and in-person treatment?

Yes, and many people mix the two. You might do groups online and come to Glendora for drug testing, family sessions, or court-related check-ins. If your needs change, you can move fully in person, or fully virtual, with the same team.

Who is virtual IOP not right for?

Telehealth works best when your situation is stable: safe housing, support around you, and needs that fit outpatient care. If the assessment shows you need more, like medically supervised detox or daily in-person structure, we will tell you honestly and help arrange the right level of care.

Does insurance cover virtual IOP?

Most major PPO and HMO plans cover telehealth IOP just as they cover in-person treatment. We verify your benefits for free, usually within minutes, with no obligation. We do not accept Medi-Cal at this time.
