Addiction Treatment
Marijuana Addiction Treatment
Legal does not mean harmless, and "natural" does not mean you cannot get stuck. Cannabis dependence is real, and the high-potency products of today make it more common than most people think. If weed has gone from a choice to a need, we will help without lecturing. Confidential outpatient care for adults in Glendora.
Signs marijuana has become a problem
The question is not how much you smoke. It is what happens when you try not to.
When you try to stop
- Irritability, restlessness, and a short fuse
- Trouble sleeping and strange, vivid dreams
- Low appetite, anxiety, or a flat gray mood
- Quitting plans that never survive the week
In daily life
- Being high is the default state, sober the exception
- Needing it to eat, sleep, relax, or be around people
- Motivation, memory, or grades and work slipping
- Spending more on it than you like to admit
Signs to take seriously
- Starting the day high, or sneaking use others do not see
- Anxiety or paranoia that use makes worse, not better
- Repeated vomiting spells tied to heavy use: see a doctor
How we treat marijuana addiction
Cannabis recovery is therapy-driven: understanding what the high is doing for you, building better tools for it, and getting through the withdrawal weeks with support. No detox facility needed, so most people start treatment the week they call.
Partial Hospitalization (PHP)
Full treatment days for when cannabis has flattened everything else, or when heavy use is tangled with depression or anxiety that needs close attention.
Learn moreIntensive Outpatient (IOP)
The most common fit: several sessions a week around school and work, with CBT, motivation work, and a peer group that includes people your age.
Learn moreOutpatient & Aftercare
Weekly therapy while sleep, appetite, and motivation come back online, which takes a few weeks and is much easier with company.
Learn moreDual Diagnosis Care
Daily cannabis use often manages anxiety, ADHD, or depression underneath. Treating those directly is usually the key that makes quitting stick.
Learn moreA word on our approach: it is honest rather than scare-based. Cannabis is not fentanyl, and pretending otherwise helps no one. But dependence is real, getting help early is easier than getting it later, and the low weeks of quitting can get dark. If a crisis ever comes with dark thoughts, call or text 988 any time, or 911 in an emergency.

Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to the questions we hear most. Anything else? Call us, day or night.
Can you actually get addicted to marijuana?
Yes. Cannabis use disorder is a recognized diagnosis, and roughly one in ten people who use cannabis develops it, with higher odds for daily users and people who start as teens. The withdrawal is mild compared to opioids or alcohol, but the stuck-ness is very real: needing it to sleep, eat, relax, and feel normal.
Is the weed of today really different from before?
Substantially. Modern flower, and especially concentrates like wax and carts, deliver far more THC than cannabis did a generation ago. Higher potency means faster tolerance, stronger dependence, and more anxiety and paranoia side effects. The reputation of weed has not caught up with its chemistry.
What does marijuana withdrawal feel like?
Usually irritability, restlessness, insomnia, vivid dreams, low appetite, and anxiety, starting a day or two after stopping and easing over one to two weeks. It is not dangerous, but it is uncomfortable enough to send most people back. Support and a plan carry you through it. No medical detox is needed.
I use it medically for sleep and anxiety. Is that a problem?
Not automatically. It becomes a problem when the dose keeps climbing, when sleep and anxiety are worse without it than they were before you started, or when you cannot function unmedicated. If that sounds familiar, treatment can address the sleep and anxiety directly, which usually works better long term.
Does insurance cover marijuana addiction treatment?
Most major PPO and HMO plans cover it. We verify your benefits for free, usually in minutes, with no obligation. We do not accept Medi-Cal at this time.
