Bailee Karst

Bailee serves as the Clinical Director at Glendora Recovery Center, bringing a unique blend of professional expertise and personal experience to her leadership. Her journey with recovery began in 2020—right here at the same center where she now helps guide others toward healing.

After completing her own treatment program, Bailee felt a strong calling to give back. She began her career in the field as a Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician, gaining hands-on experience and building meaningful connections with clients. While working, she pursued her education in addiction studies and earned her certification as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor II (CADC II).

Bailee’s dedication, leadership, and deep understanding of the recovery process led her to grow within the organization, eventually stepping into the role of Clinical Director. In this role, she oversees clinical programming with a focus on compassionate, client-centered care.

Her approach to treatment emphasizes that recovery is not just about sobriety, but about emotional healing, personal growth, and overall wellness. Bailee integrates evidence-based practices with a holistic understanding of what it means to rebuild a meaningful life in recovery.

Bailee is passionate about creating a supportive, empowering environment where clients feel seen, heard, and truly cared for—because she’s walked the path herself.

Mikayla Ask

Meet Mikayla Ask, a resilient and inspiring individual whose journey from the depths of trauma and addiction to a fulfilling life in the world of recovery is nothing short of remarkable.

Born and raised in a small town, Mikayla faced early challenges that shaped the course of her life. Growing up in a household marked by instability and trauma, she found solace in unhealthy coping mechanisms, eventually leading her down the path of addiction. Her struggles intensified as she navigated the complexities of adolescence, grappling with issues that seemed insurmountable at times.

Despite the darkness that enveloped her, Mikayla’s inner strength began to shine through. A turning point came when she reached out for help, bravely acknowledging the need for change. Through rehabilitation and therapy, Mikayla confronted the roots of her trauma and began the arduous journey toward recovery. This period was marked by both triumphs and setbacks, but Mikayla’s determination and resilience remained unwavering.

In the process of healing, Mikayla discovered her passion for helping others who faced similar challenges. Drawn to the world of recovery, she immersed herself in education and training, seeking to understand the intricacies of addiction and the pathways to healing. As she gained knowledge, Mikayla also became an advocate for mental health awareness, breaking down stigmas and fostering understanding in her community.

Mikayla’s dedication to recovery extended beyond personal growth; she actively engaged in supporting others on their journeys. Her empathy and firsthand understanding of the struggles people faced made her a beacon of hope for those still grappling with addiction. Mikayla volunteered at local recovery centers, offering guidance, encouragement, and a listening ear to those in need. Motivated by her experiences, Mikayla pursued a career in the field of addiction recovery.

Haley Isman

Haley Isman is one of the lead counselors at Glendora Recovery Center, where she is deeply committed to supporting individuals on their journey to self-discovery and healing. Her passion for helping others stems from her own challenges during her teenage years and early adulthood. These experiences ignited a profound interest in behavioral psychology and a desire to understand and support others when society has turned its back on them.

After high school, Haley struggled to find fulfillment in jobs that didn’t align with her values of equity, compassion, and wisdom. In 2017, she decided to pursue her calling by enrolling in online studies at the University of Phoenix. Through dedication and perseverance, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Correctional Program Support Services in 2021. Shortly after, she began her career at Glendora Recovery Center, where her passion for helping others truly found a home. GRC is more than a place to work; it is a refuge that embraces people of all backgrounds and respects the diverse methodologies each counselor contributes to the ever-changing field of addiction treatment.

Today, Haley specializes in counseling justice-involved individuals as they navigate the challenges of reentry and recovery. Her treatment philosophy centers on collaboration and mutual learning, meeting students where they are while holding them accountable to their goals and celebrating progress, no matter how big or small. She takes pride in creating a judgment-free space where students can focus on their strengths and work toward transformation. Haley feels honored to be part of their journey and is inspired daily by their resilience. She is dedicated to continuing to empower and uplift those in the justice-involved community, and she could not do so without the support of everyone else at Glendora Recovery Center.

Dean Wright

Dean is a licensed marriage and family therapist as well as a certified addictions treatment counselor. He received his master’s degree from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, CA and has been working in the field for over a decade.

Working in all levels of treatment has given Dean a bird’s eye view of the addiction and recovery process. Bringing his own experience of recovery is what fuels his passion for his work. He has formed his own style which incorporates a client-centered approach that is meant to be inclusive of clients’ attitudes and beliefs, while taking some elements of motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy and challenging their thoughts in a non-confrontational manner.

The success in his work with clients from many populations is what caught the eye of Glendora recovery center and we are excited to have him as a pivotal member of our team.

Jamie Payne

I got into this field because I’ve witnessed how trauma, addiction, and systemic barriers can keep people trapped in cycles that don’t reflect their true potential. I believe recovery is about more than just sobriety—it’s about rebuilding lives filled with purpose, connection, and empowerment.

My own journey included overcoming significant challenges while raising a family and rebuilding my life. I was called to this work because I wanted to offer the kind of real support, understanding, and practical tools that I once needed.

I’ve personally navigated many of the same obstacles my clients face: stigma, systems that felt impersonal, and the work of reclaiming self-worth. This gives me a unique empathy and the ability to meet people where they are without judgment, while also holding space for their growth.

Recovery isn’t just about removing substances. It’s about creating a meaningful, fulfilling life that aligns with a person’s values and potential. My approach combines evidence-based methods, holistic healing practices, and a strengths-based mindset. I believe in empowering clients to recognize their capabilities and to build lives that sustain long-term wellness and purpose.

I chose GRC because it reflects my own values. The leadership here is deeply committed to authentic, individualized care. They encourage innovative thinking and truly support staff and students alike. At GRC, we are not just checking boxes—we are creating opportunities for real, lasting change.

What sets GRC apart is that we live this mission. Many of us have personal experience or deep understanding of the challenges our clients face. Our leadership models the growth and accountability we foster in our students. We combine high standards with genuine care, and we focus on helping people not only maintain sobriety but thrive in their lives.
