Who PHP is for
PHP sits at the top of our outpatient continuum. It gives you the structure of daily treatment without an overnight stay, so recovery can happen inside your real life instead of away from it. Despite the name, there is no hospital involved. PHP may be the right fit if any of these sound like you:

A private intake assessment
We start with a confidential conversation about your health, your history with substances, and how you are feeling. No judgment, ever. It simply helps us build the right plan.
Your personalized plan
Nearly every plan includes individual and group therapy. Yours may also add family sessions, art or yoga therapy, and practical skills for stress and anger.
Structured treatment days
You come in for several hours a day, up to five days a week. Two tracks run side by side, one focused on substance use and one on mental health, and many people work in both.
Step down when you are ready
Most people move from PHP to our Intensive Outpatient Program, then to aftercare. Because discharge planning starts on day one, the next step never feels like a cliff.

What is a partial hospitalization program?
Despite the name, there is no hospital stay. PHP is the most structured level of outpatient care: you spend several hours a day in treatment, up to five days a week, then go home each evening. It combines individual therapy, group therapy, and dual diagnosis care in one daily program.
How is PHP different from residential treatment?
The biggest difference is where you sleep. In residential treatment you live at the facility. In PHP you get a full day of structured treatment and still sleep at home, keep your support system close, and practice new skills in your real life right away.
How long does PHP last?
Typically 30 to 90 days, and always individualized. Some people need less time, some need more. Your care team reviews your progress with you and adjusts the plan together, and discharge planning starts on day one.
Do you treat mental health and addiction together?
Yes. Substance use and conditions like anxiety, depression, PTSD, or bipolar disorder often feed each other, so treating one and ignoring the other rarely holds. Our PHP runs a substance use track and a mental health track side by side, and your plan can draw from both.
Does insurance cover PHP?
Most major PPO and HMO plans cover PHP. We verify your benefits for free, usually within minutes, with no obligation. We do not accept Medi-Cal at this time.
What happens after PHP?
Most people step down to our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), which keeps the therapy and support on a lighter schedule, and then into aftercare. You stay with the same clinical team the whole way.
