Who outpatient care is for

Outpatient is the lightest step on our continuum of care. For most people it is where treatment lands after PHP and IOP, protecting the progress you worked hard for. For others it is a gentle first step when a full program is not needed yet. It may be the right fit if any of these sound like you:

  • You finished PHP or IOP and want steady support while you rebuild your routine
  • Your substance use or mental health needs help, but not multiple days a week
  • You want a private, low-pressure way to start and see what treatment feels like
  • You completed detox or residential care elsewhere and need a bridge back to daily life
  • You are a parent, worker, or student who can only commit to about an hour a week

What outpatient care includes

Lighter schedule, same clinical team, same quality of care.

  • Individual therapy with your own therapist
  • Group therapy options when they help
  • A personal plan with days and hours set by your needs, not a fixed template
  • Dual diagnosis support for anxiety, depression, trauma, and more
  • Relapse prevention check-ins that catch small slips before they grow
  • Family involvement when you want it
  • Case management and medication monitoring support
  • Random drug testing when your plan or a court requires it
  • Continuing care by phone or video between visits
  • A clear discharge plan and a path into aftercare and alumni support

How outpatient care works

Whether you are stepping down or just starting, the path is simple.

1

Start with a private assessment

A confidential conversation about where you are and what you need. If you are stepping down from our PHP or IOP, your same team simply carries your plan forward.

2

If withdrawal care comes first

We do not provide medical detox on site. If your body needs medically supervised withdrawal care first, we help you connect with trusted detox providers, stay in touch while you are there, and welcome you into treatment the moment you are ready.

3

Meet on your schedule

Sessions are typically about an hour a week, scheduled around work, school, and family. We are open weekdays until 9pm and Saturday mornings, so treatment does not compete with your life.

4

Grow into aftercare

As sessions do their work, outpatient care flows naturally into our aftercare and alumni community. And if life gets heavier, you can step back up to IOP without starting over. Same team, same plan, adjusted.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to the questions we hear most. Anything else? Call us, day or night.

What is an outpatient program?

It is the lightest level of structured treatment. You meet with your therapist regularly, usually about an hour a week, while living at home and keeping your normal routine. It works well as a step down from PHP or IOP, or as a starting point when a more intensive program is not needed.

How is outpatient different from IOP?

Hours and intensity. IOP typically involves 9 to 15 hours of programming a week across several days. Standard outpatient is usually about an hour a week. The clinical quality is the same, the time commitment is not.

Do you offer outpatient detox?

No. We do not provide medical detox of any kind on site, and withdrawal from substances like alcohol, benzodiazepines, or opioids can be dangerous without medical supervision. What we do is help you find a trusted medically supervised detox provider, coordinate the referral, and bring you straight into treatment here when detox is complete.

Can I start in outpatient without doing PHP or IOP first?

Sometimes, yes. It depends on what the clinical assessment shows. If weekly sessions are enough for where you are, we start there. If you need more support first, we will say so honestly and recommend the right level.

Does insurance cover outpatient treatment?

Most major PPO and HMO plans cover outpatient care. We verify your benefits for free, usually within minutes, with no obligation. We do not accept Medi-Cal at this time.
