Meth Addiction Treatment
Meth hijacks the energy and reward systems of the brain, so quitting brings a crash that feels unbearable. Here is the truth: the crash is temporary, the brain heals, and structured treatment is what carries people through. Confidential outpatient care for crystal meth addiction in Glendora.
Signs of meth addiction
Meth tends to show itself. If these signs are appearing in you or someone you love, do not wait for it to get worse.
Visible signs
- Extreme weight loss and loss of appetite
- Dental problems and dry mouth ("meth mouth")
- Skin sores from picking, tremors, or twitching
- Days awake followed by long crashes of sleep
Mind and mood
- Racing thoughts, paranoia, or seeing and hearing things
- Aggression or irritability that was never there before
- Deep depression and no motivation when not using
- Anxiety that only the drug seems to quiet
The pattern
- Binges that last days, then total collapse
- Intense cravings within a day of stopping
- Jobs, relationships, and health falling away
- Wanting to stop and starting again to escape the crash
How we treat meth addiction
There is no approved medication that treats meth addiction, so recovery is built on structured, evidence-based therapy, and on staying connected through the weeks when motivation is lowest. That is exactly what our continuum is designed for.
Partial Hospitalization (PHP)
Full treatment days, up to five days a week, home each night. Structure is medicine in early meth recovery: it fills the hours the drug used to own and carries you through the crash.
Learn moreIntensive Outpatient (IOP)
Several sessions a week, with day, evening, and weekend options. CBT-based craving work, sleep and routine rebuilding, and relapse prevention as energy and clarity return.
Learn moreOutpatient & Aftercare
Meth cravings can resurface months in. Weekly therapy and alumni support keep you anchored well past the danger window.
Learn moreDual Diagnosis Care
Depression, anxiety, ADHD, and trauma often sit under stimulant use. We treat them alongside the addiction, so the crash does not get mistaken for who you are.
Learn moreAbout the crash: meth withdrawal is not usually a medical emergency the way alcohol or benzodiazepine withdrawal can be, but the depression can get dark. If you have thoughts of harming yourself, call or text 988 any time, or call 911 in an emergency. If stimulant psychosis or medical complications are present, medically supervised stabilization may be needed first, and we will help coordinate it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to the questions we hear most. Anything else? Call us, day or night.
What does meth withdrawal feel like, and how long does it last?
Cravings, exhaustion, deep depression, anxiety, vivid dreams, and low motivation, usually starting within about a day of stopping. The hardest stretch, often called the crash, can last several weeks. It is miserable but it passes, and structured treatment exists precisely to carry you through it.
Is there a medication that treats meth addiction?
Not currently. Unlike opioid addiction, there is no approved medication for methamphetamine, which is why evidence-based therapy, structure, and support are the treatment. Our clinical team can also support care for related needs like sleep and depression, with medication monitoring support where appropriate.
Do I need detox first?
Usually not in the medical sense: meth withdrawal is rarely dangerous the way alcohol or benzodiazepine withdrawal can be. If there are complications like psychosis, dehydration, or heart symptoms, medical stabilization may be needed first, and we will help coordinate it. For most people, we can start outpatient treatment right away.
I am having very dark thoughts since I stopped. What do I do?
Please take them seriously and do not ride it out alone. Call or text 988 any time, day or night, or call 911 if you are in immediate danger. Then call us. Depression in early meth recovery is common and treatable, and it lifts.
Can my family be part of treatment?
Yes, and with meth we especially encourage it. Trust is usually the biggest casualty. We offer family involvement and education so your people understand the crash, the timeline, and how to help without burning out.
Does insurance cover meth addiction treatment?
Most major PPO and HMO plans cover it. We verify your benefits for free, usually in minutes, with no obligation. We do not accept Medi-Cal at this time.
You do not have to do this alone.
