Who aftercare is for
The first months after treatment are when recovery gets tested by real life: old routines, old places, old stress. Research and experience agree that ongoing support in this window matters enormously. Aftercare is for every person who completes a program with us, and it may matter most if:
- You just finished PHP, IOP, or outpatient care and want the support to continue
- You are returning to work, school, or a home environment with old triggers
- You want accountability, including drug testing, to protect your progress
- You are building a sober network and want a community that gets it
- You have relapsed after past treatment and want a stronger safety net this time

How aftercare works
Support that starts before you graduate and grows with you.
Your plan is ready before you finish
Discharge planning starts on day one of treatment. By the time you complete your program, your aftercare plan is already built: who you will meet with, what your supports are, and what to do when a hard day comes.
Stay connected to your team
You keep regular counseling check-ins with the clinicians who already know your story. No starting over with strangers. The rhythm is set with you and adjusts as your life gets steadier.
Build your community
We connect you with 12-step meetings, help you find a sponsor, and welcome you into our alumni community. Recovery gets stronger when it is shared, and some of the best support comes from people a few steps ahead of you.
If you stumble, we catch it early
Slips do not have to become spirals. Ongoing check-ins and optional drug testing catch trouble early, and if you ever need more support, you can step back into IOP or PHP with the same team, no shame and no waiting list of strangers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to the questions we hear most. Anything else? Call us, day or night.
What is an aftercare program?
Aftercare is the ongoing support that follows formal treatment: counseling check-ins, relapse prevention, 12-step connection, and an alumni community. It bridges the gap between structured treatment and fully independent recovery.
Who can join aftercare?
Anyone who successfully completes a treatment program at Glendora Recovery Center, whether that was PHP, IOP, or outpatient. It is our way of staying in your corner.
Does aftercare really cost nothing?
Aftercare is offered at no charge to graduates of our programs. We believe support should not stop when a billing cycle does. Call us at (626) 594-0881 and we will walk you through exactly what is included.
How long can I stay in aftercare?
There is no fixed end date. Some people stay closely connected for months, others check in less often as life steadies, and alumni are always welcome back. The right length is the one that keeps your recovery strong.
What happens if I relapse?
You call us, and we figure out the next right step together, without judgment. Relapse does not erase your progress or your welcome here. Often that means tightening up aftercare support; sometimes it means stepping back into IOP or PHP for a while.
Is aftercare only 12-step based?
No. Twelve-step work and sponsorship are a core option because they help so many people, but your plan is personal. Counseling, alumni community, family support, and accountability tools all mix to fit what works for you.
You do not have to do this alone.
