Medication-Assisted Treatment, Outpatient and Stigma-Free
Buprenorphine and methadone are the best-studied tools in opioid recovery, and naltrexone is used for both opioids and alcohol. If one of them is part of your plan, you will never be treated as less sober here. We coordinate with your prescriber and provide the therapy, structure, and community that medication alone cannot.

Who this is for
Medication does the pharmacology. It steadies the brain so the person can do the rest. The rest is what we do. This program is for you if:
- You are on Suboxone or methadone and have been told by other programs that you have to come off it first
- You just started MAT and want therapy and structure around it while the medication settles
- You take naltrexone or Vivitrol for alcohol or opioids and want a program that treats the drinking or the using underneath
- Your doctor prescribes, but nobody is treating the anxiety, trauma, or depression that came with the addiction
- You want a peer group that will not look sideways at your medication

How MAT and treatment fit together
Two teams, one plan, you at the center.
Your prescriber keeps prescribing
We are not a medical prescriber and we do not adjust your medication. Your doctor or clinic does that. What changes is that they now have a clinical team on the other end of the phone reporting how you are actually doing between appointments.
Schedules that respect dosing
If you dose at a methadone clinic in the morning, your treatment schedule starts after. If you pick up buprenorphine monthly, we help you keep the appointment. Nothing about our program should make it harder to take your medication as prescribed.
The work medication cannot do
Medication quiets cravings and withdrawal. It does not rebuild a life, repair a family, or teach you what to do at 9 p.m. on a bad Friday. Group and individual therapy, CBT and DBT skills, and a community of people doing the same work are what fill that space.
Tapering is your decision, with your doctor
Some people stay on medication for years. Some taper. That is a medical conversation between you and your prescriber, and we support whichever direction you choose. Nobody here will pressure you off a medication that is working.

Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to the questions we hear most. Anything else? Call us, day or night.
Do you prescribe Suboxone or methadone?
No. Glendora Recovery Center does not prescribe medication. We coordinate with your outside prescriber, whether that is a buprenorphine provider, a methadone clinic, or your primary care doctor, and we help you find one if you do not have one yet.
Can I be in IOP or PHP while on methadone?
Yes. Your treatment schedule is built around your dosing times, and your medication is part of your plan, not a barrier to it. Drug testing is set up to account for what you are prescribed.
Will I be treated as less sober because I take medication?
No. Recovery on buprenorphine, methadone, or naltrexone is recovery. Our team includes people in recovery, and stigma about MAT has no place in our groups.
What is the difference between Suboxone, methadone, and Vivitrol?
In plain terms: buprenorphine (Suboxone) partially activates opioid receptors to stop cravings and withdrawal with far less risk of a high; methadone fully activates them at a steady, controlled dose from a licensed clinic; naltrexone (Vivitrol) blocks the receptors entirely and is also used for alcohol. Which fits you is a decision for you and a prescriber. Our job is the treatment around it.
Does insurance cover MAT-friendly outpatient treatment?
Most major PPO and HMO plans cover PHP and IOP, and your medication is billed separately by your prescriber or pharmacy. We verify your treatment benefits for free, usually within minutes. We do not accept Medi-Cal at this time.
